What We Do

Founded by Brian Williams in 2007, Red Panda Network has become a world leader in efforts to protect red pandas and their habitat.

We use an integrated, landscape-level approach to conservation that is built on the support and participation of local communities.

Our conservation programs extend to over one million acres of forest and 50% of Nepal’s red panda range! We work with community partners in 10 districts (of 23 red panda range districts) in Nepal. We are also working with 70 Community Forests in adopting sustainable forest management practices.

  • Research & Monitoring

Delivering usable data through status surveys, baseline studies, and community-based monitoring to inform conservation strategies.

  • Education & Outreach

Building awareness at local and global scales.

  • Habitat Management

Working with local communities in establishing wildlife corridors and viable red panda populations.

  • Sustainable Livelihoods

Providing alternatives to communities for promoting sustainable living and stewardship.

  • Policy & Advocacy

Empowering local communities to preserve their forests and governments to adopt policies that protect red pandas and their habitat.
