It started with the PIT Red Panda Protected Forest in eastern Nepal. Now we are expanding this community-protected wildlife corridor to remaining red panda range areas.
PIT Red Panda Protected Forest
We are establishing the world's first protected area dedicated to red panda! The Panchthar-Ilam-Taplejung (PIT) Red Panda Protected Forest — or "PIT corridor" — has the densest population of red panda in Nepal and is part of the Kangchenjunga Singhalila Complex: one of the most biologically diverse places on earth.
Center for Conservation and Sustainable Living
We're building a center committed to alleviating poverty and ensuring a sustainable future for people and red pandas. It will benefit at least 2,000 local families with improved living standards and increased annual income.
Expanding Conservation into Western Nepal
Our community-based model is being expanded to seven new districts which make up half of the habitat available to red pandas in Nepal and will ensure the connectivity of three protected areas: Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, Shey Phoksundo National Park and Rara National Park.
Red panda conservation in Bhutan
We have launched our first conservation project in Bhutan and have helped the country develop it's first Red Panda Conservation Action Plan.
plant a red panda home
This is our national initiative to reverse the biggest threat to red pandas — habitat loss due to deforestation — through restoration that connects fragmented habitat and creates a wildlife corridor in Nepal.
stop the illegal red panda trade
The campaign to disrupt the supply chain where it starts: poaching. Our anti-poaching networks achieve this by patrolling red panda habitat and reporting any signs of poaching to enforcement agencies.
