Traveling with RPN During COVID-19
We’re eager to get back into red panda habitat with you on an RPN ecotrip. And we're looking forward to resuming our support for the communities we visit.
While some of us may not be ready to pack up and go just yet, we are close to being able to do the things we have been looking forward to for so long. RPN is carefully planning to resume ecotrips in late 2021 and ramping up more in 2022.
We are looking at every detail and evaluating the feasibility of operating programs, based on science, at the high level you would expect from us.
Please check below for updating dates. For those who made a "floating reservation" deposit that can be applied to a future trip, we will be reaching out to you personally. If you would like to book your place on an upcoming ecotrip today, your deposit is 100% transferable to another trip until your final balance is due.
In the meantime, stay well and we hope to see you on an RPN ecotrip before too long!
If you have any questions, please contact ecotrips@redpandanetwork.org.

What RPN ecotrip participants are saying...
“I had an absolute blast. Besides seeing the red panda, some of the most memorable moments were seeing the sunrise over Mt. Kangchenjunga at Sandaphur, as well as being able to see Mt. Everest.”
— Lauren Buches, 2015 RPN Ecotripper
“If you’re tempted to go, I highly recommend the Red Panda Network’s ecotrips.”
— ulie Falconer, 2017 RPN Ecotripper. Julie runs 'A Lady in London' travel blog.
“Overall, our Eco Trip was an unforgettable and rewarding experience. I would highly recommend the Red Panda Network ecotrip experience to just about anyone with an interest in wildlife and nature.”
— Mike Owyang, 2014 RPN Ecotripper
“If you’re thinking about going on ecotrip, JUST DO IT. It is an experience I will never forget, and something so hard to explain. Being fully immersed in Nepali culture, seeing first hand how RPN has changed the lives of locals, experiencing views you’ll never see anywhere else, and making lifelong new friends were just a few of the things I’ll cherish forever (on top of seeing Red Pandas, of course!).”
— Julie K Washnock, SeaWorld of Texas, 2018 RPN Ecotripper
“The eco-trip experience with the Red Panda Network was a rewarding, unforgettable experience.”
— Mei-Ling McNamara, 2013 RPN Ecotripper, Mei-Ling is a writer, travel guidebook author, advocacy journalist and international development worker.
"It was just as exciting to see our first red panda as our eighth! The forest guardians’ passion for red pandas and their habitat gives me hope that all RPN is doing to conserve red pandas is helping."
— Melissa Thueme, Mammal Supervisor, Detroit Zoological Society, 2018 Ecotripper
